As you know, most COVID restrictions were lifted across California on June 15th; however, one exception was K-12 schools.   We are all hearing about the Delta variant and certain counties mandating some masking once again, but the following is the specific guidance as of today (July 23rd) as it pertains to SCHS Athletics:

    • Outdoor Sports/Facilities:  No restrictions (wearing a mask is a personal choice); frequent sanitizing of multi-use equipment (balls, mats, shields, etc…).  No sharing of personal equipment, apparel, water bottles, etc…
    • Indoor Sports/Facilities:  Mandatory mask wearing by athletes at all times unless directly involved in strenuous cardio activity (even then it is “as tolerated”).  All coaches and any spectators must wear a face mask at all times when within an indoor athletic facility (regardless of vaccination status).  Frequent sanitizing of multi-use equipment (balls, mats, shields; weight room benches, bars, dumbbells etc…).  No sharing of personal equipment, apparel, water bottles, etc…
    • Locker Rooms:  As of today, it looks like they will be re-opened with mandatory mask wearing at all times; frequent sanitizing of seating areas between classes will be required.

We look forward to the 2021-22 school year and the 29 individual sports, 71 individual teams, and over 1,400 student-athletes competing this year!!  TraditionCommitment and Excellence is Triton Athletics!!  #TRITONSTRON
